We're serious about helping you educate about severe weather
Introducing the Titan U Digital Asset Library
When we started Tornado Titans in 2009, there was a simple goal: share our videos and pictures with the world.
We’ve grown a lot since then.
In 2010 we launched what may have been the first storm chasing web series on YouTube. And in 2011, we launched a new educational section to teach about severe weather called Titan U. And in 2015, we revamped and massively expanded our Titan U offerings.
In the earliest days of Tornado Titans, we did a lot of cool, new stuff that no one had really tried before. Some of it worked, some of it didn’t work out. Still, we’ve come a long way since those early days and I’d like to think we’re still trying to push the envelope here at Tornado Titans.
To kick off what is going to be our most ambitious year since the early days of Tornado Titans — I’m proud to announce a new product offering from us: the Titan U Digital Asset Library.
This free resource will be the place you can get videos and photos for your storm educational presentations. From NWS spotter training events to local emergency management folks who need examples of storms to teach others — this database will be where you can go to download great examples of the atmosphere at work to educate others.
Each photo and video is licensed under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC-ND 2.0) — which gives you clear and explicit instructions on how they can be used. Better yet, this database is only going to grow in the coming months as I (admittedly) find time to add to it. What we have available already is a pretty good cross-section of atmospheric phenomena for your use.
I hope you enjoy this resource and make use of it. Together, we’ll continue building a more weather-ready world.
See database.
