Another High Risk in the South!
If you live in the outlooked area, it's a good day to be wx aware!
These are the types of e-mails that aren’t as fun to write, but they’re super important.
The SPC has issued another high risk of severe storms today in the south. These level five out of five events are always dangerous days. Numerous rotating storms with tornadoes, some strong and long-track, are anticipated across the risk area.
As with the high risk earlier this month, the storm mode will determine how today plays out across the risk area. Simulated radar images from weather models continue to point towards semi-discrete storm modes, which means storms might be able to thrive and spin this afternoon across the risk area. As with the day earlier this month, there will likely be localized and concentrated areas of tornado risk in and around the high risk area.
In a lot of ways, this day looks more potent than the one earlier this month with bigger ingredients — but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be more or less active. The best thing you can do if you live in this region is stay weather aware with multiple ways to get warnings throughout today.
If the event is ongoing tonight, we will attempt a YouTube live stream to break down radar in real-time. If you don’t live in the risk area and want to join us, be sure to subscribe to us on YouTube and click to get notifications when we go live.
